On occasion the patient has baseline EKG changes or is not able to walk adequately to achieve a certain heart rate to allow for interpretation of the test results. On those occasions we elect to proceed with a nuclear stress test that allows one to compare blood flow at stress and rest. Since there are two parts to the test, it could sometimes take up to 4 hours, please bring material that would keep you occupied. Dress in layers as we have to keep the temperature much lower.
